2016 has been quite a year with many challenges but its nearly the end of the year so clearly we all made it through this year!
1 Thessalonians 5:18
give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
This probably sounds dramatic but to me 2016 was my worst year so far, but there were many moments that I am truly thankful for and that were awesome. So instead of talking of all the bad and going to talk about the good bits. The year started with all my dad’s family being in South Africa and all of us being able to celebrate my grandparents 50th Wedding Anniversary. That time together was really super awesome and I loved it. We get to end the year with most of my mom’s family being here which is also super awesome. It is the first year in my life that I have been able to see every single family member in one year and some even twice and of course my other grandparents who live here I’ve so very often, this all has made me really happy. To be able to be with my cousins and aunt’s and uncle’s and grandparents is something that I would consider to be one of the best things ever.Another amazing thing that happened was my family, the 5 of us or the Famous Five as my Dad likes to call us got to go to Europe in June/July. This was such a blessing especially during all my struggles to have this opportunity to go see Rome and Florence in Italy and Paris in France as well as different parts of Holland. Another bonus was seeing family in Holland! I am so grateful for this trip and for my parents that made this trip happen. Those memories will never be forgotten, it was so awesome to say the least!More ‘big events’ in my life was that we moved house and joined a new church, which wasn’t easy but I am enjoying both the new church and our new place which is good.As you know from previous blog posts, I left my school at the end of the year!!!!!!!!!!!And the last of my ‘big events of 2016’ is the fact that I worked up the courage to start this blog. I’ve wanted to have my own blog for the past few years but thought I had nothing to write about or my writing wasn’t good enough. And by the end of 2016, I do have my own blog and I literally write whatever I want to whenever I want to.This post just has a few of my life happenings of 2016 I am looking forward to 2017.God truly was amazing (as always) this year, he got me through everything and gave so many blessings with it. I’ve heard people say many times that God uses the tough times to bring you closer to him and I can definitely say that is true. I especially learnt this year that God’s timing is everything and he always provides. His love covers everything, he is forever faithful.
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God. who loved me and gave himself for me.
I hope your 2017 is an awesome year, enjoy the last few days of 2016!
