How are you?

February 27, 2017
How are YOU? This question is probably asked millions of times a day which is all fine and well but lately it’s been bothering me.
It’s so easy to so easy just to say “Fine, thanks and you?” or replace the word fine with something else. Yet after that kind of conversation I still feel no connection, no real caring or sharing.I don’t know how I can encourage them or if they are surviving, it was just a bunch of words. I hate when that happens and other times I am silently grateful. I want to help others but sometimes I just don’t know how and then I want to give up and not really connect but God doesn’t want us to give up, he wants us to build relationships with others.
Now this question is basically every conversation starter but want I am trying to learn to do is ask myself if I am asking with genuinely and not just for the sake of saying those words. Maybe you feel lonely or that you can’t connect with anyone, I get you-that’s the whole reason I’m digging into words and re defining the word genuine because it matters. If you are longing for someone to ask how you are, first check how genuine you are when you ask this question because oh how it matters.
If you ask me how I am doing you either get two words or an essay that is just me. Then I send my answer and sit there questioning it because it was either too long or too short or too silly and so on and son on. But they asked and so you get to answer in the way that is you and genuine, that is the true purpose of the question to show care not to just speak words.Do you now get my point for it being genuine?
In 1 Peter it stresses how important loving others and unity is. 1 Peter 4:8, “Most important of all, continue to show deep love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins” Gods’ love is so great and genuine, We need to want to grow and be more like him therefore loving others should be on that to do list of ours. By asking how someone is or answering the question genuinely you can show love and share encouragement and joy depending on the circumstances.
God does not ask us to do this life alone, he is with us and encourages us to connect with others.
So let me ask how are you, the you that is reading my jumbles of thoughts on this blog… I really care so feel free to share!
My main goal is to encourage others and help brighten your day. I blog and now YouTube to make someone smile and share Jesus, I do it for Jesus. I don’t have it all together this is jut part of my journey and I am so grateful for all of you who have chosen to be apart of it.
Until next time, keep smiling and be genuine!
