How to become a better YOU in 2018

Goal setting, becoming a better you, planning

It is hard to feel complete in the world we live in. Thousands of pictures are shown to us every day in the form of advertising in the modes of transport we board, television programmes we watch and posters we see hanging from street corners. The perfect ideal of beauty that is often portrayed in these makes it hard for us to feel at ease with who we are and what we are doing in life.

Beauty, however, comes from within, and as Audrey Hepburn said, “make-up can only make you look pretty on the outside, but it doesn’t help if you’re ugly on the inside. Unless you eat the make-up”. Hopefully, we won’t go to those lengths this year, but we will learn to become better versions of ourselves by following the below tips.

Sort out your finances

Struggling with unpaid debt or being unable to make ends meet is rarely an attractive trait and as a result, if we have financial troubles this will be reflected in the way we live and look. Problems can sometimes prevent us from resting appropriately, and these can also at times get in the way of us enjoying our existence thoroughly. If you need extra cash to make it to the end of the month but don’t know how to get this without it having a massive impact on your finances, look into the best credit card offer for you to go for in order to be able to treat yourself from time to time without going into your unarranged overdraft.

Help others

In our lives, we should first and foremost look at finding ways to become more comfortable in our existence. There is no better way of being happy than by ensuring our needs are met. Once this is the case, however, many people keep pampering themselves at the expense of others when what we should be doing is helping those most in need. If you have yourself at times felt that life is unfair and that this only provides for those who are already well-off and have a significant amount of money, you are in the best position to give help to the most in need. Why not join a charity or even start a cause of your own? If you have enough followers, chances are it will become a popular organisation in no time.

Train your mind

Finally, and in order for us to lead better lives, there is an essential part of our body we need to look after: our mind. We are always rushing to the gym to make sure those abs are looking fit and healthy, but what about our brains? How do we cope with our daily stresses and at what expense? If you are a sceptical mind, you might think that spirituality is something that some god-driven person somewhere once invented. However, research has shown that meditation and mindfulness are practices that have significant positive effects on our health and it is as a result of this that experts recommend using these ancient techniques to quiet the mind from time to time. Why not try Headspace in order for you to become more familiar with your thought patterns? Give it a go; you will not regret it!
