Ever wake up one day and just feel downright hopeless? I get you,it’s like I just want to push everybody away on that day because I just don’t know how to receive love. Does that even make sense?! Sometimes I can write a whole post and be so confused about what I’ve written because I just get excited when I write..
Back to the hopeless days, they are actually the days we need the love and attention but I don’t handle it very well.
So I don’t know how you feel about Valentines day, I mean I don’t even know how I feel about it . To me its just another day, but maybe for you its an exciting day or a really hard day. One thing I do know is that one thing all Valentines days have in common is that there is a lot of love involved.
So if you don’t feel like receiving love this Valentines Day or you don’t feel worthy of love, let me tell you about a different kind of love.
This is the kind of love that is unconditional and always there (even when we think we don’t need it or deserve it)
So the question I wanted to answer today,’How do you know if you’re really loved?’
I wanted to write about this because I know there are people out there who have had such bad experiences with love in general or feel so broken that they don’t deserve love.
You know that you’re really loved by Jesus on that cross, you know you’re really loved when God says he’ll take you with all your brokenness and make it something beautiful.
God is the ultimate definition of what true love is.
Here are 5 verses that I wanted to share with you because I think they really just emphasize that this kind of love is so different from any other love.
Psalm 86:15-But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.
John 3:16 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 5:8-God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
1 John 3:1-See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
1 John 4:7-8Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
So as Valentines day approaches try have the mindset to use this day as a reminder of this different kind of love and let that love carry you through the rest of the days.
