Reminders from Psalm 46

August 14, 2017
As I’m reading through the book of Psalms I am constantly reminded of how good God really is. While reading Psalm 46 over and over again, it quickly became one of my favourites. It’s amazing to soak in the truths of this Psalm.
Our strength comes from God
Vs 1: God is our refuge and strength,an ever-present help in trouble.
Woh! How cool is this verse! God will never leave you,he is right there when you need him most and even when you think you don’t need him. He will give you the strength to face whatever you need to. Sometimes all you can do is really hang onto this truth to get through the day.
God is with us
Vs 5: God is within her, she will not fall;God will help her at break of day.
When we have God in us, we are working with him. In this Psalm Jerusalem had abandoned God so he no longer protected  them. They then fell to the Babylonian army.
When we reject God he withdraws his protection.
God has victory over all
Vs 10: He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;I will be exalted among the nations,I will be exalted in the earth.
Basically, chill it’s the king of the world  in control. So quit the worrying and get on with living for God(#preachingtomyself)
Maybe a time of quiet in your heart and mind will help you focus on God’s greatness. I know I am constantly struggling to keep my focus on Jesus, so sometimes I have to STOP and tell myself who Jesus is, then remind myself why I’m living for him.

Remember his goodness.

Hold on to His words, they will get you far.
