Book Title: Waiting for Jacob
Author: Cole Smith
About the book:
Christian detective and algebra tutor, Rachel Joy, loves to solve problems.
And life in Parkersburg, West Virginia, has no shortage. But when a church friend’s daughter goes missing, Rachel must decide whether to search for a woman who doesn’t want to be found, or to listen to the friends who know her best.
Relying on her faith in truth and logic, Rachel is hindered by a quirky newcomer who questions her ideals at every decision point. How can she uphold her duty but stay true to her beliefs? She can’t calculate all the unknowns but maybe this time, the risk is worth taking.
I loved seeing Rachel’s character grow and soften throughout the pages of the book. As you read you see her come to know herself better and learn some hard lessons. Lessons I think some of us also have to face, which is why I found this book challenging me to evaluate my views of things.
This is such a dynamic book as it covers characters from all different walks of life. This book has the perfect amount of real life, romance and mystery all wrapped together in the pages.
Throughout her personal growth there is still the underlying mystery of the different cases she is trying to solve.
This book is full quirks and you will be gripped into wanting to know more about Rachel’s character.
