Hi Special People. As its Easter weekend I thought I’d write a post all about this special time. Also this post is a collaboration with a whole bunch of my friends from Instagram, their blogs will be linked at the end of the post.
As we celebrate Good Friday, the day our Jesus was nailed to a cross, the day his love poured out over us, the day we were truly set free from sin. And then on Easter Sunday we celebrate how Jesus conquered death and rose again. What incredible events that are completely life changing.
I want to focus on the freedom aspect of Easter. John 8:36 says, ‘So if the son sets you free, you will be free indeed.’ That shows just how only through Jesus can we receive freedom. He has made a way for us to be friends with Jesus, to no longer be chained to the sins of this world. We don’t have to carry those sins- he paid it all on the cross.
We can now come to the Lord and give him our sins and know he loves us so much that he died on that cross and thought of us. We can’t repay him for that, we can’t ever be good enough for heaven. But he didn’t want heaven without us so he sent Jesus and our sins are covered by his love.
Could you ever imagine given up your life for someone else, its a massive thing to do. Yet our Jesus knew it needed to be done, he knew he needed to follow God’s Plan and he took that cross and changed the world. We no longer have to fear death because we have the opportunity to accept Jesus and have eternal life with God in heaven.
Everything I am talking about is clearly stated in Romans 6 verses 6 and 7, ‘For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin—because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.
He is risen, he is alive, he has done it all. We are free, we are loved and we can have eternal life. Let the cross change who you are, live in the different way that God requires with the freedom we have been given. That does not been doing what we want but it means we can live with hope, live with not being tied down to our sins,
He is risen and we have been set free.
Until the next time, Just Keep Smiling!
‘For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God’
